In a C1, D1 area, is it acceptable to use PVC conduit to support a bonding conductor down to equipment? The bare cu conductor would be bonding to equipment and building steel.

Yes, it is soley in the classified area. Basically the ground conductor is supported over head in the PVC conduit and open at both ends to bond to steel and equipment.

I guess - where I get stuck - is does a insulated or bare copper bonding equipment conductor fall under this category? Seals are not required since the conduit is not entering any equipment. It is not required to contain an explosion. The only reason I can see to not use the PVC conduit would be to the potential of static accumulation.
