What year did the nec require that we run an equipment ground wire to a sub panel and separate the equipment ground and the neutral? I started working with my dad in 1953 and we never ran an equipment ground only a neutral. Also what yeay did they start requiring gfi receptacles?

The need to install an equipment grounding conductor is specific to the type of raceway installed - RNC - would need an EGC, EMT, RMC, IMC would not require an EGC as per code.
