I saw this on Cadet's website, whats up with the 1500w figure? Is there a code I never new about? Couldnt find anything in the electric heater section of NEC.

I. When connecting a heater to 120 volts:
? Use a 20 amp single pole circuit breaker
? Use 12/2 with ground wire
? Electrical code restricts max load to 1,500 watts

I get 1440 watts if using 14-2 and 1920 if using 12-2. They give 3840 as the max for a 240 heater which I agree with.

I installed one a year ago and opted for #12 and called it a day. It was a single heater, the additional cost of the #12 was just pennies and the breaker was the same price.
As I recall it was a 1500w heater and 1440w wasn't enough for a continuos load. I can't remember what the instructions said however.
