IF there is to be a house panel, I would definitely go with 1 GFCI to serve ALL the condensers from the house panel.
I would too (assuming the building is only 50 feet long :) ), but we recently learned that these are going to be for sale individually, so that's not really an option now.

So it's a condo now.

I don't see how that alleviates common areas...there are NO common entry areas, basements, stairwells, hallways, etc?

Meter on the garage, panel in the garage, and each townhouse was subfed underground from its respective garage.

These are three stoires above grade. garage and one bedroom on bottom. Kitchen and living on second. Bedrooms on third.

Any advantage to having your panel on the second floor?

You'd have to sort that out for yourself. Home run wire savings vs. cost of subfeed cable and required disconnect. Might not even have the real estate upstairs for a panel. I'd put it in the garage just for the simple reason that this is "where it belongs".

Nope. Townhouses. Surely you have those in The People's Republic of New Jersey. No common areas on them. Just a bunch of otherwise normal houses smashed right next to each other.

Condensers not grouped. In each unit's backyard.

Dont' think 1 from house panel would satisfy 25'

I'm trying to picture the layout...that's probably some of the confusions.

I have a mental image of an apartment building being converted to condo.

If it's t'houses all grouped....any site lighting...ie, parking, path lighting?

They seriously don't have townhouses in Jersey? Brownstones, maybe? Same thing.

No on that. Not that much real estate.

I'll have to check plans to see if it is required by builder. (A house panel that is.)

If they're going to be sold individually, no place to mount one anyhow, even if you wanted to. I have done an "owner meter" for the sign entering a development before, however. It's normally mounted on the back of some fancy brickwork piers or something along those lines.

Nope, just apartment buildings and factories.

Of course we have t'houses....I was stuck on the condo concept for some reason :-?
