anyone from Europe familiar with 230v receptacle wiring requirements?
We need to add a 230v receptacle to a machine control panel headed for poland, What little I can find shows a hot, neutral and ground, so I plan on grounding one of the transformer secondary 230v leads at the transformer, much like I would if I was doing a 120v neutral, but just can't find much on the internet to verify if they do anything differently over there.
thanks

Live, neutral, and earth (ground).

What is the transformer for?

You have to understand that if they have a 400V system, it is almost ALWAYS a 4 wire system, so 400V Line to Neutral is 230V. There would be no reason for a transformer at all.

Good point if I may say so.

What receptacle are you using? They can be a bit hard to find over here. I have some panel mount hinged cover IP54 Schuko if you need one....

I'll speak with the project manager to inquire about the possible 4 wire feed, We build the machine control panels with a transformer because it's standard procedure....
It isn't a standard here in the UK just for isolation. If you need to transform form it to a different voltage that's a different matter but, as far as I'm aware you are not doing that.
