I have my spare two car garage built and am anticipating an EV charger. Where are they typically located? To the front, back, one side or the other? Does it matter?
The Leaf’s are on the front, but Tesla is on the side, If I remember correctly the Volt too. Don’t know where Ford’s is.Where are the charging ports on EV's typically located are they in the front of the vehicle?
I know Tesla uses an adapter, but I think everybody else uses the standard plug on the vehicle. With Tesla, you must plug the adapter into the cord first, then into the car, or it will not charge. Something about the initial hand shake that takes place when plugged in. The car doesn’t “See” the charger.Does a Ford take a different one then Chevy? Yes, I'm ignorant.
Definitely varies across vehicles. As commented the Leaf's is the front middle, the Chevy Bolt is by the driver's side mirror, apparently the same for the Ford F-150 Lightning, Tesla puts theirs on the driver's side rear, and I don't know about all the others.Where are the charging ports on EV's typically located are they in the front of the vehicle?
