exhaust fan control

We have a project with a 1/4hp 120v single phase exhaust fan in elevator equipment room with thermostate control. Do we need to provide a combination starter for the fan control? How do you do for the fan control? Thanks.

The t-stat will control the fan. Does the fan have integral thermal protection? If so sounds like you'll only need the t-stat and maybe a disconnect.

I have found that line thermostate can be used for the exhaust fan control. And I have asked our mechancial engineer to specify integral overload protection for the fan. Thanks.
