exhaust pipe for heaters

How close is to close for wires that run next to the exhaust of the heater. :?

I typically keep wires 30" to 3' away from heater vents, but I do not know of any code on this.

310.16 Is Based on Ambient Temperature of 30?C (86?F)
The correction for ambient temperatures go up to 80?C and I think that?s around 175?F with a correction of -41% of the table ampacity.

Maybe you could use the 80?C as a rule of thumb.

Check with your AHJ and local building code. 300.4 may be the refernced section for this.

IMO the mechanical code will cover this. The clearance to combustibles with a single wall vent is 6" & clearance to double wall is 1". I hope this helps. Ron
