Have just looked over a job and am working on pricing it. A quick check of the emergency battery pack (wish I could remember the name - for some reason I'm thinking "Chlorine" but I know that's not right - and it has integral lamps off the top. Pushed the test button, and neither the two lamps mounted in the top of the pack, nor the Exit lights work.

Quick look in to Exit light, and it looks like it has two different sets of bulbs, but both seemed to be tied together. Any one know why there might be two pairs of lights? Can any one tell me what company looks like, or sounds like "Chlorine"? I'd like to see if I can find info on line - boy I wish I wrote it down - figured "yeah I'll remember it".

Thanks

Dave

If the unit is self contained(no remote heads), I've found it far easier to replace it with a new one. The basic replacements are fairly reasonable@ 50bucks. Rather than trying to find parts/batteries for old one. If it doesn't light up when you press test it could be the battery or something else.

I don't understand what you have there. It doesn't seem normal. That usually means a handyman was monkeying around with stuff, or what you thought you observed wasn't really what you observed. The two sets of lamps in the exit is normal, but being tied together is not.

choride i think. change the battery...
there should be a lable with all info
if the heat from the charger hasnt
made them fall off

RIGHT! I've already bought brand new em light fixtures just to rob the batteries out of them, because it was cheaper than buying the batteries alone.

RUH ROH! You should have written it down! LOL So, it was Remote Exit signs and internal E-Heads? Sounds like an animal, unless someone drilled the case for the E-heads. Maybe Chloride like Donselectric says. Try a search maybe you'll get lucky.

We use these at times, the batteries are sized to run the on-board heads as well as the outboard heads / exit fixtures.

I agree that the problem is most likely the batteries or charging unit needs to be replaced.

As an aside, there are other manufactures besides Chloride that offer these setups

In most cases the required testing of these units are not done.

Is Choride still in business. I haven't been having much luck googling them. Maybe I've got it spelled incorrectly.

Who else can you guys/gals recommend. I checked out Lithonia, and it looks like they don't support the dual Exit lights. In my opion, they're websites not too user friendly. You have to go through four different pull-down selections before you can get to something - unless you know the part number. I know one of my suppliers carries their line, but I'll have to check with my other supplier. I haven't installed an Exit light in a long while. Beend doing mostly residential since I got back in to the business.
