Hello. I am a union electrician for 16 yrs. I am working for a contractor .I am running normal and emergency power to feed exit signs and emergency lights. My boss tells me you can't combine the two systems in the last junction box preceding the exit sign.He says you have to have a box for both , then go to the exit sign.I thought i read somewhere that it was ok to combine at the box before ? His concern is the 480 potential of the two 277 systems . Another old hand agreed with me.Who is right

Re: exit signs

Wait a minute. It says in a common junction box attached to exit. The box i ran is on the wall next to the exit. There is no t-bar ceiling yet and eventually i will flex down to the j-box for the exit
