exothermic welding

I am going to have to do a couple exothermic welds on the next project. One to a ground rod and one to building steel. Anybody seen some cheap kits that can get this done?

Laketime, Caddy / Erico sells one time use kits pretty cheaply.

For the shot to steel I don't think they make a one shot.

Price out the labor and parts on what you need to get the job done. Next call another EC who has the exothermic welding equipment and get a price on what they would charge you to do it. If the price is right and you never plan to use the exothermic welding equipment in the future then sub it out with the EC who has the equipment.

Harger makes the same product as the Erico/Caddy as well. Usually it is cheaper if you can find a supply house that carries it.
