Exposed NM in Kitchen Cabinet

Personally would have run up back wall then across to box. But while likely not against a code other than non secured NM, an argument for "subject to damage" might be made related to the loose wire and proximity to the slide rails. Others remark that because drawers will slide within the slides damage unlikely, but can't tell you how many times have had items overflow the drawer and get jammed and the wire could be a source of jamming and being loose be damaged. Don't think "exposure" by itself makes it subject to damage but being loose does. Best solution I saw offered would be the stick on cable tie anchor like these, as just adding Carflex without adding supports would not eliminate the "potential" for damage. They have some that you can actually screw down with a tiny screw like a #4 or #6 3/8".

I've used those a lot, extremely helpful.
I put the little screw hole at the top, for gravity & weight pulling down.
Some stick well, others fall off after a while.

Cut remaining staple sticking out off with grinder wheel and keep couple different color sharpies ready at hand lol
I have cut staple nails or even replaced with small screws before in situations where attaching to a thin surface.
