Extend circuit to install lamps and receptacles

I have question if I Install new lamps and receptacles that mean extend NM conductors. Do I have to protect that section of conductors with AFCI receptacles or entire circuit replace breaker AFCI. Or leaving existing protection as is?
I am not sure if that is in 2017 code 210.12.D which is in my area.

Ok thank you
New AFCI breaker I think would be too much to trace first outlet and that could be switch too not necessarily receptacle that would be to easy I guess.
