Extending A/C line

I need to extend 8-2 UF aluminum wire for the A/C unit. Do they make wire nuts for aluminum that size or can I use split bolts? Thank you

There are many connectors available. For 30 or 60 amp single phase applications, I have found using an AC disconnect seitch is cheaper and quicker than than making a "regular" splice.

That's a good idea - I never thought of using a disconnect switch instead of a j- box. Thank you

Agreed. For less than $10 you get AL/CU terminals ready to go in a 3R enclosure. You can't beat that. :happyno:

And if it happens to still be "within sight" of the unit, you are already covered for disconnecting means.
