Extension Cords

Are Extension cords of any type OK to run in PVC.. The cord is coming out of a water fountain, not a drinking fountain, Undrground in Pvc into a box..410.8 says not unless it is permitted elsewhere in the code....Where is elsewhere??
 
Is this cord plugging into a receptacle inside that box? If so, I'd say it might be a legal install, since that's not a raceway... it's a sleeve. A sleeve in much the same way they sleeve cords on motel/hotel cord and plug connected wall sconce fixtures.
 
The Pvc goes into the house thru the foundation into a 1900 box...Actually there are 2 pvc into 2 different boxes 1 is for Low Volt light and the 2nd for pump...

I assume you meant to say 400.8. The elswhere is 400.14.

They cut the plugs off? Sounds like it. Plus, cord isn't allowed to run through floors and walls.
 
SOW is common in PVC in installs such as lift stations. Need a shower, I'll look for a code ref. in a few.

No the didn't cut at least on of the off I went down in the basement and the cord is sticking out of the box with no cover and plugged into a recep 10 feet away.....
