I don't do to much commercial and have a service question for a mixed use building. If I run 2 feeders at 200 amp from a 400 amp meter-main for a restaurant out to remote panels side by side do my 200 amp mains have to be at the 400 amp meter-main or can they go in the remote panels?

It depends. From what you've described you will have two 200 amp taps to a 400 amp OCPD so the tap rules will apply. If the taps are completely outside then their length is unlimited. If they're inside then your installation would fall under the 25' tap rule meaning that the tap condcutors need to terminate in an OCPD within 25' from where they originate at the 400 amp meter main.

Welcome to the Forum. :)

That's great. Thanks for getting back so quickly. Picking up where another electrician left off. They left feeders coiled at main with plans to double tap. Wasn't sure they new something I didn't. Thanks again!
