Are the house and garage two separate structures?

If the structures are separate then there is no issue with one feeder going to the house and one to the garage. Are you saying that there is also wiring between the house and the garage

Inspector correct. You generally cannot create a "triangle" of power feeds from pole-house-barn-pole, without meeting specific limited criteria of 225.30(A),(B),(C),(D) or (E).

The 2020 NEC allows more than one feeder but they must originate from the same panelboard. Before the 2020 you couldn't do that either so the answer is...................Inspector has got you on this one.

If this is for remote control of lighting there are wireless options or Wi-Fi controlled by alexa (edit typos 6/22)
