1st of all this is my 1st post but long time surfer. Great to be here!

Question: In Manhattan (NYC Advisory board submission) can I have a busduct switch feed my fire pump if there is no room to tap in my switchboard?

details: 1200A 5KV switch feeds step-down xfmer to 277/480V. Busway comes out of xfmer to feed a 4000A switchboard with very limited room.

If allowed, I can supply a busdcut switch to feed the fire pump OR a tap box to feed a wall mounted switch to go on and feed my fire pump. Never dealt with busway feeding firepump and dont know what the code has to say about it.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

695.5 prohibits transformers that supply fire pumps from supplying other loads, unless this is a multibuilding campus style complex as referenced in 695.3(B)(2). Typically a separate service, or a tap ahead of the service disconnecting means is required for the fire pump. In this case, it sounds like that may be the 15 KV switch. How is the building served?
