If your question in regard to a bid you might want clarification. I have know folks who refer to the cast iron boxes such as Killark FS voxes as
ferrous boxes" even though most other boxes are actually ferrous.

Go to home Depot and stick a magnet on a "stainless steel" barbecue.
Was told that one type of Stainless Steel that is some what magnetic. SS Austenitic grades 301 & 304 are none magnetic but can become partially magnetic with cold forming. Years ago while working in a large slaughter house came across some stainless that my pilot bit that became magnetized after being on a strong magnet picked up some small stainless steel chips while drilling. Magnet on steel & iron had a lot more holding power then with SS. Only time ferrous material ever came up is when single conductor MI cables were run into a steel panel such as emergency power MI cable to fire pump panels. They would drill & tap 1/4 to 3/8" thick brass plate to install MI cable connectors. Might cut out a 4 by 4" hole in panel for a 6 by 6" square brass plate.
