art 770 *2005 NEC (*California) refers to NON-conductive fiber optic cable being allowed in shared raceway with electrical power & light conductors under 600V.
this falls under category III. Cables withIN buildings. 770.133
My application would be in existing raceway run throughout a container yard. All conduits are underground outside of any buildings. Can I deduce that art 770.133 still holds true for cables outside of buildings?
I could not find anything in art 770 that referenced installations other than inside buildings. Unless you consider a class I area could be outside of a building. Does anyone know what requirements there are for non building Fiber optic cable installations along side electrical conductors?
FYI- trenching and/or saw cutting (pavement cable) are not an option as there are enviromental concerns. We are looking to install the non-conductive fiber in existing underground lighting power conduits to each of the site light poles. The fiber will be used for tracking equipment mounted up on the site light poles.
