When installing a motor is it required per the code to install a lockable field disconnecting means close to the motor or is the Motor Bucket disconnect sufficient?

Yes Rockyd I found 430.102(B) and since this is an industrial facility the operates using lockout/tagout policies and the motor is fed from a motor control center that is located remotely and can be locked in the open position. I believe I meet the exception (b) to 430.102(B) just wanted a second opinion to confirm my interpretation.

Nice that it worked out.

Our LOTO at our larger facilities normally have us place our badge # on the lock. That way, the lock is a "known" lock, and the person doing the work readily tracable, if the need arises to see why a breaker is tagged out. Big fan of first lock on, last one off, in regard to the person actually doing the work.
