Just received back from NIH, comments on a design I did for a Laboratory up here in Cambridge. It's a typical biology lab with a vivarium.
The comment I'm concerned about was "fire alarm system cabling shall be installed in rigid conduit, not to use MC cable".
Is anyone aware of where this requirement may be coming from? I mean of course this is true where run exposed, but within walls and ceiling cavity?
I'd just do it were it not for the fact that we're already half built. Yes I know - the process is kind of screwy! But therein lies my problem.
Thanks,
Mike
