NFPA 70, 760.136G does not require fire alarm cables to be separated from power cables when the fire alarm and power cables are separated by a "firmly fixed nonconductor" in addition to the insulation of the conductor. What is a firmly fixed nonconductor? The code provides an example of flexible tubing and when I hear the term flexible tubing I think of "Smurf Tubing" but I don't know how firmly fixed that would be. Is the jacket of a FPL fire alarm cable a firmly fixed nonconductor?
