Fire Alarm Devices in Walk-In Cooler/Freezer

The Building Code (Section 907.5.2) typically requires notification in every occupiable space in a building.
You will have to decide if the space is "occupiable".
Here is the definition from the Building Code

When I'm not the EoR, I check to see if the EoR placed emergency egress lighting (called means of egress illumination in the Building Code) in the space, in which they considered the space occupiable.

Just my thoughts, but a small refrigerated unit at say a restaurant likely not going to be considered an occupiable space. Larger warehouse type cooler/freezer very well could be depending on what sort of activity typically goes on in it.
