fire/burg alarms need help

what brands are good? are there
any good wireless ones?

Are you talking about a commercial building or a dwelling? Commercial building, check the specs if there is any first. Otherwise I like Simplex myself. For residential, Ademco is my brand, but I don't like to pursue that type of work these days. If there is an ADI store in your area, they are very helpfull people over there, and I have no financial ties to them but I can recommend them from past jobs as being of great help at times.

I thought about installing one in my own home so I checked out the ADI catalog and found it overwhelming due to the various choices. For now the large dog will have to suffice.

I use the DSC brand both fire and burgular in dwellings, they are very simple even a caveman can do it.
