fire pump disconnect

According to NEC 695.3(A)(1) a fire pump may be connected ahead of the service main. Does the fire pump disconnect count as one of the 6 allowed disconnects? To my understanding, this is not a separate service, if it was, it would not count.

230.2(A) Special Conditions. Additional services shall be permitted to supply the following.

Yes, it is a separate service and shall be treated as such.
