You are talking about a fire pump service and if the fire pump controller is SUSE (suitable for use as service equipment) rated, you are not required to install additional service equipment in front of the controller but you are permitted to do so. If the fire pump controller is not SUSE rated (is there such an animal?), you are required to install service equipment in front of the controller. If there is a transfer switch in front of the controller, it has to be SUSE rated.. . . do we need to provide OCPD protecting the fire pump feeder? . .
