Greetings,
I'm planning to use properly sized standby generator as my alternate source of energy for my electric fire pump. I'd have to have two feeders coming out of the gen. breaker - one going to the fire pump ATS and one going to the existing loads. Can I route these feeders through disconnect switches? I'd prefer this to feeder taps.
Thanks,
EE

Though not required, usually the fire pump feed is tapped ahead of the breaker for the other loads on the generator. Also a smaller generator can be utilized if that breaker is a shunt trip controlled by the fire pump controller.
