Hi gyes maybe someone can help, I am in new york city, I had a fire alarm inspection the inspector noticed that my service switch for the fire pump was in the pump room & not in the service room, he told me that by code it has to be grouped together with the rest of the service switches of the building, I showed him in the nec sec 230-72-a exeption that the fire pump switch can be located in the pump room away from the other service switches, he told me that he is following nyc building code & it requires all switches to be grouped together,does anyone have any suggestions for me ?

You will need to find out if he is correct. I am not sure if the building code deals with this, otherwise I would let you know if he is correct or not.
