480V service w/ a 208V pump in an existing building. I tap the electrical service ahead of the main disconnect and into a disc switch w/ fuses and then to a transformer that is dedicated to the fire pump and into a secondary disc switch w/ fuses. Are the secondary conductors that are feeding the fire pump controller required to be routed outside the building or in 2" concrete or can they be installed within the building if they are 1hr rated?
Thanks

Re: Fire Pump

Correct. Be sure to comply with 695.5 for your transformer and disconnect and with 695.6(B) for your feeder. Pay particular attention to 695.6(B)(2) and (3) if you are planning to use a rated system. About the only thing you can use to meet this is MI cable. There is a new product out there and the name escapes me, but both are pretty "spendy" as they say in Wisconsin.

Edit: I found it - http://www.drakausa.com/marketPage.aspx?ID=4
