N nvcape Senior Member Oct 1, 2004 #1 Have a project where the corridor is rated and wanted to use cut-in boxes for adding some fire alarm items. We have not been able to find any UL listed 2 hour boxes, got any ideas to avoid cutting out the drywall?

The boxes will have to be fastened securely to a stud. You will find this in the front of the UL orange books (Fire Resistance) volume 1. It was located on page 10 in the 2000 edition. Roger
