what is the fire chaulk fill depth on on a 1/2 inch emt conduit stub for plenum type ceilings? Where is it in the NEC 2005 code?

It's not in the NEC. The easiest way to find out the specifics of a particular assembly is to consult the Fire Caulk Manufacturer for their information, you can probably find it on the manufacturers web site. You will need to know the wall, ceiling, floor, or partition type and rating.

Roger, hi, this was a question on a Limited Energy test I took in Florida and am taking again this weekend coming up, the referrence they let you use is the NCE code book, they would ask a question that the answer in't in the code book?

Matt, see 300.21 but this will not tell you how to apply the fire stop.

I am surpirsed that particular question is being asked on that particular exam. I don't believe any the references permitted to be used on the exam including the NEC provide that information.

The typical UL System calls for anywhere from 1/2" to over an inch of fill depth in both the annular space around the pipe and within the pipe itself...
