I am doing a total off grid solar installation. We have 24 V at 200 W of panels feeding a charge controller battery bak, and an inverter which will have about 2 amp of continuous load on it
The battery size, charge controller and inverter were engineered by others.
My question is this...... from the panels to the controller is around 15 feet. The leads we got from the panels arent that long. can we use "standard strand" #8 THHN from the splice point to the controller? I was planing on using proper cord grips into a "bell box" with crimped and heat shrunk connections to the longer cables, with 1/2 HW down the pole to the controller/ batter/ inverter box.
Any reasons I shouldnt do it this way? If I shouldnt where can I find info on doing it differently?
