Fix for Broken GND Wire to Swimming Pool

Went to look at a job Saturday for a service change and some repairs.
The GND wire from the inground pool is broken about 3' away from the pump & filter and was half @ss twisted together. Sorry no pictures.
I need some ideas to fix this.

A split bolt or any listed connector.

Bob beat me to it!!! :D

One thing I would add is to tape it...if your jurisdiction requires it. I know for sub grade installations it is required almost everywhere, but above grade is dependant upon the day/time/inspector. :) Regular splice tape or some 20Mil will do.

Sorry, I shoulda prefaced that with local ammendments may...:rolleyes:

I had an inspector do that to me and since then have been doing it out of habit. None of the other inspectors I've had have said anything about it. :)

I usually run continuous from the panel to the convenience outlet drill a 1/4" hole in bottom and loop the rec grd then hang below fs box and bug pump perimiter grounding from there. If a light is involved I usually try to sell a midwest panel as far from the house as they can afford.

All the high voltage lights I ever installed came with a cord, so i'm gonna assume he's talking about the required #8 bonding wire.

That is correct. It is the #8 bonding wire that is broken about 3' away from the pump.
