Is it legal to install a floor box in a bathroom? I am working in a nursing home where we are moving the bathroom walls into the room to make the bathroom larger for ADA requirments, the home runs come up from the concrete slab in rigid conduit witch is now the middle of the bathroom, so can i chisel a blank floor box in this floor?

Re: floor box

We once had a guy where I worked spit tabacco stuff on a floor in a hospital.

The owner of the company called a meeting and said "not everything can be covered in the employee hand book, some things require common sence."

I say now: "not everything can be covered in the NEC, some things require common sence"

Re: floor box

i will recomoned that you remove the exsting conduct in concrte floor that home run just abanon it and run new one above it if that possible otherwise you have to chip it out to the wall and rebend to new location.

i will never install a floor junction box in bathroom due the wet evorment area and i know there is a wet location box for it but really in bathroom i kinda stay away from it becasue the corrosive cleaning stuff you know what i mean

Merci, Marc

Re: floor box

If the architect drew it there and you have approved prints put them where they are shown. If they don't like them have a pen and a change order ready. If you are doing an as-build no prints I agree with the other posts.
