Thank you gentlemen for all of the recommendations/suggestions and tips on what to use and how to do it, floor heat is new to me.. Its goes a long way to making the job easier and helped me make a good sales pitch to the customer. Cheers!

The mats work the best for me and are worth the money. Of the mats I like the orange plastic like Sun Touch. I feel that the tile installers seem to like them better. Either the fabric mesh or the orange plastic work fine for me.

As far as the sensor goes, If you follow the instructions the sensor wire is not actually installed in the switch box or run in the same conduit if one is used. The connection on the thermostat is actually outside a standard plastic box. The wire gets covered by the thermostat. The only time I can see this as an issue is if the wire is penetrating a firewall. You might need to use firecaulking.
