FMC in a Health Care Facility

Is it permissable to use flexible metal conduit fished in a metal stud wall within a Health Care Facility (Nursing Home Resident Rooms)on a 20 amp circuit. The way I read it, as long as the raceway qualifies for an equipment ground return path in accordance with 250.118. I know we need to pull an equipment grounding conductor. Is the maximum combined length 6 feet only for flex not listed for grounding?

Re: FMC in a Health Care Facility

Is this a "Patient Care Area"? Are the circuits part of the "Emergency System"?

Then you can use the FMC. You don't need a redundant ground path for this, so if the flex itself qualifies as a ground per article 250.118 you won't need a seperate EGC.(personally I'd would add one)

You would probably be better off using MC and HCFC cable depending on the particular areas in this Nursing home.
