This is a follow up to Receptacle on Light Pole | Mike Holt's Forum .
Running a 120 volt circuit a distance of over 1800 feet would be impractical. The first several hundred feet would likely need 250 KCMIL wire, with the wire getting smaller as you go further down the line, in order to deal with VD issues.
Question: Can I order light poles and fixtures that are rated for 277 volts, and have the manufacturer install a step-down transformer (277V - 120V, single phase) and a receptacle into each light pole?
