I have done service upgrades before, but thus time i was asked for a DR # from the township. I was never asked for this before. I had to call JCPL and leave a message about the upgrade i wanted to do. They called me back the following day and told me they would be out to inspect also. Is this a common practice and i have been doing it wrong the whole time , or is this just for certain townships? And what is a DR # anyway?

If you get ambushed without your WR/DR number, try this trick that has worked for me in the past. "This was an emergency repair. I'll get back to you with that".

Hey Emahler, I am just trying to learn the right way to do things. I don't want to be made a jerk of. Isn't this site for electricians who want information? Did you start out knowing everything there is to know about electricity? Please i am just trying to learn the correct way to do things and the correct way to run a business.

don't get mad....btw PITA is not an electrical specific acronym...it's a general everyday one, like SNAFU and FUBAR...but not a tech specific one like LOL or OMG or ROFLMAO...

but yes, JCP&L will give you a D&R # (disconnect and reconnect) if you are upgrading a service. If you are simply opening a meter, and need it resealed they will give you a WR# (work request)

Hey Emahler, I would appreciate if you can contact me so i can call you with my questions, and also maybe we can meet up sometime. Also maybe if you recieve any small job's that you aren't interested in you can pass them to me. I am a loyal and honerable person and won't let you down. Thanks
