Have a fountain light set up with a brass submersible jbox cord connected to lights. I think I can use rigid nmc to feed it and probably need a deck box definitely gfci (120V lights). What are your thoughts?? lets say it is 2005 code??

I agree definitely GFCI protected and I would say a deck box also if you use conduit into the pool. I believe a rubber cord may also be used.

The problem I see with rigid non metallic conduit is that there would be no flexibility. You would want to be able to service the light and the JB without having to drain the pool.

Good point but where could I leave slack if I ran the cord through the pvc there is no niche end the pipe with a threaded reducer and cord connector and leave the slack in the fountain??

I don't think you can use a cord to feed the J-box.
