Curious as to what cable you guys would use for the class 2 between power packs and from packs to sensors if running above hung ceiling. Thanks.

I assume "free air" means not in raceways. If space above ceiling is used for environmental air handling, you need to use plenum rated cable.

Yes, I know. Just curious as to what guys runs in this situation....a Belden type cable is what I think. Thanks.

Yes, it could be a Belden type cable... but Belden makes a very wide variety of cable types. :slaphead:

If it is for a class 2 circuit a CL2 rated cable is acceptable, and plenum rated if in an air handling space, but nothing says you can't run RMC with THHN/THWN or MC cable either, but the CL2 cable probably cost less and is likely less labor to install as well.

For reference, 336.10(4) permits outdoor use with messenger wire, and 336.10(7) permits use in industrial establishments...

According to Wattstopper it requires 18-22 AWG, conductor class 2 cable...plenum where required

I think we used this. I can't remember if we used 2 or 3 wire for occ sensors
