is it tru don, that you delete post with pro union messages and ban members from writing in about union issues. ever hear of the 1st amendment??

Re: freedom of speech

Crankshaft, this is a private forum, care of Mike Holt. Considering how fired up people get about Union issues, it's understandable that Mike Holt does not want to offend potential clients and people coming here looking for education.

Moderators are charged with the task of keeping the content of this forum in line with Mike Holt's wishes, so your personal attack of one many such moderators is not warranted. An apology would be. :(

Edit to add: Rules & Disclaimers

Re: freedom of speech

One more thing: If you'd like to discuss the pros and cons of Union ways, you are more than welcome to use the Private Messaging capabilities of this forum to do so. It does not have to take place in the public portion of the forum. ;)

Re: freedom of speech

I'll take a PM on union issues. "Look for.. the union lable......."

Union / Nonunion, we all love each other here. :D )

Re: freedom of speech

Before going on my own, I've been employed by both sides. I had a fun and successful time working for both.

Re: freedom of speech

george, that was hardly a personal attack, but more of a question that I knew the answer. I would hope a moderator would not delete a post b/c they disagree with the content. If the post is in the wrong area, move it but dont ban the author from future posts. I think that action warrants an apology.

crankshaft

It sounds like you had a bad day. This is a code forum not a forum about unions or non-unions. We try to learn from this forum and like was said earlier, Mike has the right to use the forum the way he wants it to be use for. Using the 1st amendment is bull and I don't believe anyone should give you an apology. Now if you would like to talk about the code I believe we all can help you in this field.
Bye now,
Jim

Re: freedom of speech

crankshaft,
is it tru don, that you delete post with pro union messages ...
Yes that is true, and I also delete anti-union messages. This is a code forum and not a political one. The owner of the forum wants to keep this as a professional code and electrical forum and it will not remain such if political discussions are permitted.
... ban members from writing ...
Members are banned from posting after being warned for rules violations, when additional violations occur.

I am closing this thread.
Don
