There was a fire in one of seven apartment units and we were asked to "check out" the electrical in all of them.

I only made it thru two units. Typical panel with double tapped 1 pole 30 amp breaker and a fat sheet metal screw one CB lug.

It got better as we uncovered several receps with neutral to ground bootlegs, buried JB's and repairs obviously done by the handyman over the years.

That's the "main" neutral panel!

Can't be a main... no main breaker. So it's a neutral sub panel.

I need to get busy and start writing proposals for the new Article 201. Or should it be 407?

Are those hand cleaner towels going to get it cleaned up all right? I'd be happy to sell you some official cable cleaner at $35/can. The magic neutral-fixer is up to $45/can now.

That big #12 sheet metal screw in the lug on the tandem (lower right) doesn't really look like OEM stuff to me. ;)

It's supposed to be painted white and be hex/phillips/flat drive IIRC.

I did mine with a double-click. I had the jitters that day.

Every time I do that, I get a message that I must wait 60 seconds between posts, please try again in 60 seconds. Then I find out I double-posted.

Glad my handguns don't do that!

Why was only one breaker left on? You let a little fire start up and all of a sudden you forget the important details...
