FS and FD Junction boxes. what does "FS" stand for?

As far as I know....
FS = Ferris box standard or shallow
FD = Ferris box deep.
Of course now you can get a plastic FS or FD.

UNILETS? for use with Threaded Rigid Metal Conduit and IMC. FS Box
2.00? Deep, FD Box 2.69? Deep. Furnished with Internal Ground Screw.
I'd say also it's fitting shallow, or deep

Bob I do not know. All I have is FD fitting deep and FS....shallow. History.... clueless. Just what I have been "learned" over the years.
