FS/FD style box

Anyone know what the terms FS or FD mean for an FS or FD style junction box?

480sparky, is there any special significance to using those types of boxes rather than any other type of box?

The search capabilities of this forum are inadequate at best.

Too common of a word, too short of a word, etc.

A better way to search is to go to google and search like this:

mc cable site:forums.mikeholt.com
or
"FS box" site:forums.mikeholt.com

It works really well that way. I'm not sure if the other engines follow the same parameter, though. Not necessarily an endorsement, just the only one that I happen to know.

They have threaded entries in them and they can be used outdoors.
