Anyone familiar with having done this before?

1.Seems like receptacles will come loose by furniture vendor and electrician just install?
2. What about the tele/data furniture locations. Does furniture guy also provide device?
3 Would wiring need to be run within furniture?

Guess all this depends on type of furniture but nothing mentioned in spec or drawings.

I am accustomed to the EC leaving a Jbox to receive a whip provided by the systems furniture vendor. The whip will have a proprietary plug that fits into the busing within the furniture.

1. plug and play. Often there are dip switches or toggles to select which circuit is utilized off of the busing.
2. I have yet to find a furniture vendor that will provide the low voltage face plates or devices by default. They tend to just leave a knockout in the raceway and the EC will get the systems furniture type faceplate that jives with their voice and data jacks. This tends to fall through the cracks.
3. Voice and data will generally go into a chase built into the systems furniture. The power wiring is pre-installed via a ribbon cable and or busing and the recpts are plug and play.

As you stated this all depends on the type of furniture but this has been my experience with many different manufactures of systems furniture.

Sounds pretty standard for your jurisdiction, EC handles and installs all electrical parts of the furniture system, provides the circuitry and connects via a whip. Wiring within the partitions is plug and play. Data cables are run through the hollow spaces of the partition.

The electrical furniture your use to do you"snap" in the receptacles or do you have to connect wire? Imagining they are snapped in.

Also what's the EC responsibility for the data outlet location? Thanks.

I would guess that most if not all modern partition systems are just snap together. Unless the EC is actually doing the data work they typically have no involvement with running the data cabling with the partition. We typically provide a drop in the nearest wall, poke through in the floor or device in the floor cell system (dog house) for the data contractor to get his cabling into the partition.
