garage door opener wiring

None the less, it was a good point. That being, some cable is not listed for installing concealed in an wall, or ceiling cavity, so verify application or install a chase.

The bell wire I see is marked CL2/CL3 which is good for the class 2 wiring of the garage door opener & in residential -- sometimes the marking is difficult to see -- I do agree cable not marked is not listed

I hear you and I would put it in the wall myself. Just wondering what those that follow every rule no matter how minor it may seem have to say.

My opinion is:
1) It's junk.
2) You normally wouldn't have the opener on site until after the rough so where would you get it?
3) Thermostat wire is listed so it can be installed concealed.
4) Thermostat wire comes on a spool making it easy to pull vs a tangled mess.

I would expect the door installers to use that stuff, enough said.

ETA: If you use CAT6 instead of CAT5 the door will go up and down faster.
