Agree with the cord and plug with the GDO. Can we used this cord and plug as a disconnecting means if the motor is 1/2 HP?
 
Our interpretation of the Code per para 430.109(f) is it is a motor and not an appliance since it is HP rated.
 
But that cord may be supplying a light and the electronics inside. Not just the motor. Honestly I don't know. The way I'm reading 430.109(f) is pertaining to a motor only.
