Is there an NEC code requirement to keep a certain amount of separation between electrical lines and gas lines in the same trench?

Possible a utility requirement but not an NEC issue.

I agree with Dennis. The norm I?ve seen is 12? or more apart.

The NESC has a section (353), deliberate separations. There is a rule for utilities, (Gas, communication, and electric) but as the others have stated, not in the NEC.
