One of my good buddies owned a pizza restaurant and had to shut it down a couple of months ago. tough to make it in a town of 5k when everybody is tightening the purse strings.



back to the gas subject;

our situation has improved greatly as far as supply; prices are anywhere from $3.69 to $3.85.
 
On Friday to sign said 3.29 but the punps were 3.39. I waited til they adjusted pricing. That afternoon the price was 3.19. Couple more days like that would be appreciated.

As far as the pizza prices, wheat and cheese prices have shot up dramatically. Less wheat was grown so farmers could plant corn for ethanol. Supposedly worldwide demand for milk is up while dairy farmers are cutting back due to increased costs.
 
$2.59 and it's also a bad thing. There is little incentive to drill domestically if the price per barrel is too low to cover drilling costs. Sure, the oil companies have HUGE profits, but it cost money to be in business. And business is about profit.

Funny how that is. I can't quite see a pattern. Seems like sometimes the more back in the sticks you get, the cheaper the gas is. That's backwards from what you'd think. My wife and I drove out yesterday to a village in the mountains to look at a litter of puppies a lady has for sale. The gas in that little town was a good 50 cents a gallon cheaper than where we live, and we're closer to the highway where the trucks get off to deliver gas. Go figure.

They call it Zone pricing. They know how much they can wring out of each part of town using demographic and volume formulas. Supposed to be a big trade secret.

Just fulled up with Diesel 3.79. Got 15mpg with heavy loaded utility body 3500 duramax 6.6
 
gas has dropped here to $2.489; its amazing how just a few short weeks ago it was almost $5/gal. Diesel is still above $3.5--. I noticed a couple of E85 pumps have sprung up in town. I noticed it because I almost filled my truck up with it by accident. I didn't even think to look at the price of it though! Gasbuddy.com doesn't have E85 prices for our area online either. I've going to do my best to remember to check the price tomorrow. I'm curious if its cheap enough to warrant changing out my injectors to handle it.
